"What The Bleep Do We Believe"

Starting Saturday March 6 at 10:00 and going for eight weeks. The sessions will be based (loosely, loosely) on the book "Building Your Own Theology" by Richard Gilbert but will incorporate material from Karen Armstrong and Bill Murray among others. Remember that "theology" among UU's does not mean a study of God but a study of what are the things we hold most important, why we hold them, and how they call us to act. One of the interesting things we will discuss is the concept of "belief". Karen Armstrong has pointed out that in its' original sense the word came from the Greek pistis and the Latin credere and did not mean assent to a bunch of incomprehensible doctrines but "commitment" or "loyalty". Maybe UU's can be "believers" after all.

You can register for this circle by calling the church office, signing the sheet in the foyer of the church, or emailing John Dunsheath (email address available through the church directory).
